Story
The Dolat residential building is located at the corner of the main street. Unlike typical residential buildings with only one face connecting with the city and viewers, this building with two faces to the city has the opportunity to become an iconic landmark with it’s distinctive shape. Since this positive potential of the project at first glance catches viewers' eyes, frequent disruption of form posed a risk of visual confusion. To address this, a curved structure was implemented to soften the boundary between the two faces, enhancing the overall cohesiveness of the mass of the building. In the next step, the design incorporated similar horizontal lines into the façade to its neighbor. Due to neighborhood regulations and density restrictions, the north side and the building's roof followed the same design principles (main lines) to complete the overall form with minimal additional elements. This approach maintained a consistent form throughout the project while respecting the surrounding context. .
